Well hello!

Well hello, and welcome to our first Stonelands blog entry! I’ve got so much to tell you it’s a dilemma as to where to start – so let’s begin at the very beginning and tell you a little about our Stonelands story!

We purchased Stonelands in November 2016 as a retirement project. It was a livery yard set in twenty acres of land with a house that was crying out for some love and attention! We worked with a great architect to create our dream that would be suitable and accommodating for bed and breakfast guests. The builders moved in during November 2019, we were hit with several problems – but by far the worst was COVID 19 – who could have foreseen that one!!

We finally moved to our dream home in August 2020, coming from our tenanted dairy farm one mile away. It was with the intention of starting our bed and breakfast business immediately, but whenever does anything go to plan!! We welcomed a few wonderful guests and then with the dreaded COVID 19 spreading far and wide we went into lockdown. But every cloud has a silver lining and it gave us extra time to sort little extras, such as some pretty and functional black-out blinds, wonderful luxurious toiletries, and some great teas and coffees for guest to enjoy.
